The SSL Team Spain captain made history by being the first Spanish athlete to win two Olympic gold medals. He was the sports director of Desafío Español, a union that participated in the 2007 America’s Cup in Valencia, previously he had been the tactician of Bravo España in the 2000 AC in Auckland. He has a long family tradition in the Olympics, as his brother José Luis won gold at Finn at Seoul 88 '. World and European champion in different classes such as Europe, FD, 470 and Soling. Currently, he continues sailing on cruises in the main regattas, being one of the most sought-after tacticians in the world.
